Badminton players must use a variety of strokes and footwork to work their way around the court to return the shot and attack. The basic power strokes in badminton are the smash(consist of hitting the shuttlecock as hard as possible downwards) and the clear(consist of hitting the shuttlecock up and out). Along with the strokes, elite badminton players perfect their footwork to get to the shuttlecock as soon as possible. Footwork can be considered shuffling, lunging, chasseing and jumping.
